4-Star WR Visit Set

If SMU fans thought that California 4-star wide receiver and USC commitment Jordan Payton wasn't really serious about visiting Dallas and SMU, guess again.

If SMU fans thought that California 4-star wide receiver and USC commitment Jordan Payton wasn't really serious about visiting Dallas and SMU, guess again.

After a conversation on Tuesday night with SMU offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, Payton is all squared away.

"I'll be there March 25th," said Payton to PonyStampede.com. "I'm really considering SMU. I know it's hard for some to believe, but I am.

"I'm trying to break records. I think the SMU offense can help me do that. I'm excited to see the campus."

Despite committing to the Trojans before the start of the 2010 season, Payton has admitted he will still continue to look and evaluate other options. Electing to be "very selective" in who he talks to, both from schools and the media.

Besides for visiting SMU and USC this spring, he will take up visits to California, Arizona State, and an unidentified school on the east coast. As of know, the only date that has been set is his visit to the Hilltop.

Payton recorded 45 catches for 1,088 yards and 18 touchdowns, setting the new Oaks Christian record for touchdowns and yards in a season for a receiver in 2009 as a sophomore. Missing some of the 2010 season due to injury, Payton still recorded over 800 yards as a junior.
