Willis RB Discusses Recruiting

Autrey Golden ran for more than 1,000 yards and averaged 7.5 yards per carry last year for the Willis Wildkats. Find out which schools are recruiting him here.

"I've been to Junior Days at Texas A&M and Kansas," said Autrey Golden. "I also have two that I'll be attending - at Baylor and Texas Tech.

"Texas A&M told me that they're looking at Johnathan Gray and Trey Williams, and that I'm third on their board. Kansas is only taking one running back, so they're not sure about what direction they'll take. I was invited back to watch Texas A&M's spring practice."

Golden, who is also getting interest from Oklahoma State, rushed for 1,142 yards on 152 carries last year with 12 touchdowns. His squad went 8-4 and reached the second-round of the playoffs before bowing to Port Neches-Groves in a 50-47 shootout.

"I only played one quarter in some of our games last year," said Golden (5-11, 178). "We had a lot of blowouts. I got more passes thrown to me last year - compared to my sophomore year. The coaches recognized that I could catch the football.

"Next season should be exciting. We have an amazing group of skill players. We only lose our center and right guard on offense."
