So far so good

This weekend could be remembered as one of the biggest recruiting weekends in years for SMU. Late Saturday afternoon, one prospect visiting, Max Tuerk, called to fill us in on his trip to the Hilltop so far. Come inside for his reaction.

It's a California weekend for SMU, as the Mustangs offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Adrian Klemm has major Los Angeles talent on the Hilltop for visits this weekend.

One of those recruits is Santa Margarita HS (CA) offensive tackle Max Tuerk. The junior sports offers from SMU, Duke, and Washington, but has many more schools on the west coast looking at him. On Saturday night, he checked in with to update us on his trip.

"I have really really liked SMU. I have loved the campus, enjoyed the coaches, I like the coaching whole coaching staff, pretty much everything about SMU I really like. I also think the academics are great," said Tuerk. "It's definitely been better than I imagined it would be.

"This is just as impressive as the California schools that I have visited, if not more. Especially with the academics SMU has to offer students. I really like all the buildings, the campus, and the guys are nice here. I have been really impressed so far. "

Tuerk has indicated in the past that he is not ready to commit anytime soon, electing to take his decision into the summer. But, we couldn't help but ask the question after gauging his excitement level for the visit to Dallas.

"I don't know. I just want to take my time, consult my family, all my coaches; it's a tough question. I have to be ready to commit," said the 2012 offensive lineman. "I actually really like Texas. This is the first time I have ever been here. I really like the food and the weather. It's been pretty nice." is scheduled to talk to the California product again on Monday night, electing to let him rest and think about his decision when he returns to the west coast on Sunday evening.
