Cottrell Visits SMU During Camp

Plano West Bryce Cottrell has a double-digit offer list, but only two offers from inside the state of Texas. On Sunday, he visited one of those schools when the soon to be senior took in a SMU camp.

Plano West (TX) defensive end Bryce Cottrell has over 11 offers, with schools ranging coast to coast. But, the soon to be senior only has two offers from inside the state of Texas. One of them is SMU, a school in his backyard. On Sunday he took in the Mustangs' camp.

"I didn't work out or anything, but I was able to use the time to just chill with the coaches a bit," said Cottrell. "I'm definitely interested in the program. I'm open to anyone at this point. It's a school close to home, I would get a great education, and definitely has coaches that would help me develop as a football player."

Cottrell has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Mississippi, San Jose State, Syracuse, Wake Forest, and USC to go along with his offer from the Mustangs.

"The offensive line coach Adrian Klemm is my recruiting coach at SMU.," said Cottrell. "We have a really good relationship, I have known him for a little while...It's an honor to be recruited by him. It makes you feel good."

Currently the 73rd rated defensive end in the country, Cottrell stands at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds.

"I don't have any plans for the next couple of weeks, but when I do get some, I will let you know."
