Cantrell's recruitment picking up steam

Whitehouse junior Dylan Cantrell has received visits from a bunch of Big 12 schools over the last two weeks. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver says he'd like to have his college decision made before the start of his senior year.

Dylan Cantrell, a 2013 wide receiver prospect out of Whitehouse High School (Whitehouse, Tex.), said Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, North Texas, Rice, and West Virginia have come by his high school the past two weeks.

He currently holds offers from Rice and Ole Miss and is being recruited by SMU.

Cantrell said he's keeping his options open, but would like to have his college decision made by the end of the summer.

"I guess I will figure out who is really interested when I visit on junior days," he said. "I don't want this decision to be something I have to worry about going into my senior year."

Cantrell led the state in Class 4A in receptions (86), receiving yards (1,402) and receiving touchdowns (21) in 11 regular season games. He received first-team All-State honors this week.
