SMU says goodbye to Lewis

Robert Lewis becomes the sixth recruit to de-commit from SMU since June Jones almost bolted for Arizona State and Adrian Klemm left for UCLA. With the de-commitment, the Mustangs have lost out on all of their 2012 prospects from the state of California.

Robert Lewis has de-committed from SMU.

The three-star wide receiver out of South East High School (South Gate, Calif.) has been committed to the Mustangs since last February, but after June Jones almost left for Arizona State and the fact that his recruiter, Adrian Klemm, left for UCLA, Lewis has decided to retract his verbal commitment and pursue other offers.

With this de-commitment, SMU has lost all of Klemm's recruits from the state of California, which include Gabriel Marks, Chris Harper, Kache Palacio and Carl Hulick.

In fact, only two of Klemm's recruits remain in the Mustangs' 2012 class – Seaver Myers and Chauncey Briggs.

Lewis is currently on his official visit to Washington State with Marks and Palacio. He holds offers from Oregon, San Diego State and WSU and said last week that Texas Tech has recently come into the mix.
