Last week, Walling was leaning more toward SMU after receiving an in-home visit from June Jones and Wes Suan.
He followed that with an unofficial visit to campus last Wednesday and said that he walked away "very impressed."
However, he made sure to note that no matter how much he enjoyed the time spent with the Mustangs coaches or how beautiful he thought SMU's campus was on his visit, he would not make any hasty decisions as far as de-committing from North Texas and committing to SMU on the spot.
He said he'd wait to entertain the UNT coaches, who dropped in for a visit Tuesday night.
"It went well, they brought everyone basically," Walling said of the North Texas in-home visit he had, which included head coach Dan McCarney. "It's still a toss up. I'm leaning towards SMU still, but [UNT] is very persistent and gave me even more to think about."
So what did the coaches talk to him and his family about?
"They just said how they've been loyal and with me since junior year and how I'm their top guy and have been this whole process," Walling said.
"It wasn't a guilt trip thing or anything like that," he added. "They've always been awesome about everything."
Thinking he may have been able to make his final decision early this week, it may be a couple days.
"I don't know if it'll be signing day, but I'm definitely not ready now," he said.
