Christian Chamagua can't wait until Wednesday's National Signing Day.
"I wish it was now," he said. "I have my National Letter of Intent all ready, just waiting until Wednesday morning. When 7 a.m. hits, I'm going to sign it and fax."
Chamagua, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive guard out of Manvel, took his official visit to SMU this past weekend. He said the best part was just feeling comfortable on campus and seeing everything the school had to offer.
"It was awesome," he said. "I'm so glad I'm committed."
During the visit, Chamagua, who goes by the nickname "Chuey" by the way, got to meet all of the coaches and current offensive linemen. Except, of course, his position coach, who is presumably former UCLA offensive line coach, Bob Palcic, who Chamagua said he's "excited" to play for.
In his one-on-one meeting with June Jones, Chamagua said his future head coach told him where he thinks he stands as far as playing time and his role next season.
"Coach Jones told me how excited he was to have me and that it's a great place and that I have a strong chance of being a 3-4 year starter," Chamagua said.
