After almost six weeks of searching, SMU has found its new basketball coach in Larry Brown. The Hall of Famer, who is the only coach to have ever won both a NCAA and NBA title, says he is "thrilled" for the opportunity to coach the Mustangs.

It's finally come down to this: after 37 days, SMU has hired Larry Brown to replace Matt Doherty as its new head basketball coach. The Hall of Fame coach made it public knowledge a few weeks ago that he would be interested in the job opening and reaffirmed that desire last Saturday night on NBA TV, where he was a guest analyst.
