Taylor anxious to visit SMU

SMU wide receiver commit JaBryce Taylor will be on the Hilltop to watch the Mustangs practice this weekend.

SMU 2013 wide receiver commitment JaBryce Taylor is visiting SMU on Saturday along with the rest of his family. Taylor has had a visit planned for awhile and was recently able to finalize a date that worked for his family.

"I am going to go up there and revisit the campus," Taylor said. "Just wanted to walk through the campus and look at everything because the past couple times, I had just been looking at the athletic part of it. So this time I am going to look at both the athletic side, campus, classrooms and all that. Just seeing the whole school in general."

Taylor said earlier this summer that he is looking forward to hearing more from the SMU coaching staff about where they have him playing and the role he will have in the offense.

Taylor's parents have been supportive of him throughout the entire recruiting process and have helped him by encouraging him to go to the place he feels most comfortable at.

"They've really been saying to stick with SMU. They tell me to follow my heart and keep an open mind, but it's going to be SMU," Taylor said.

SMU's great academics have Taylor's parents excited about the school and the type of education and attention he will be receiving.

"They like the fact that it's not a real big school and they are really going to take care of you," Taylor said. "They're really strict on grades and making sure you get your grades done so you can perform on the field."

The Lufkin (TX) product has been in fall camp for a while now so he is shutting down his recruitment completely and will not take any other visits this year.

"I wont have time to visit anymore because football season has arrived," Taylor said. "So I am just going to visit SMU and try and get the most out of the visit that I can."

With Taylor's solid commitment, he will be focusing on his senior season and helping Lufkin make a run at the playoffs again this year.
