Video: June Jones talks about preparing for Baylor

Practice Observations

- Ryan Smith may be returning punts but as far as kick returning duties, Jeremy Johnson got some work in as the return man this morning

- It appears as if freshman walk-on Nick Sota may be the team's starting punter

- Stavion Lowe practiced with the third team today despite Seaver Myers being out. As Jones said in the video above, he is no longer a candidate to start

- We've reported this quite a few times, but Bryan Collins practiced as the team's starting right tackle

- The play of the day was made by running back K.C. Nlemchi, who made an amazing one-handed catch out of the backfield

- Nlemchi continues to be a receiving threat at practice so don't be surprised if you see him get on the field against Baylor

- Bobby Waid also made a nice catch as he reached over Ajee Montes and hauled in an underthrown ball thrown by Garrett Krstich

- Krstich was pretty off target today and was picked off by Kenneth Acker during 7-on-7 drills

- Gehrig Dieter made a nice sideline catch on a beautiful ball thrown by Neal Burcham, who is getting healthier by the day

- Garrett Gilbert and Jeremy Johnson had a nice connection going this morning. After practice, Johnson said their chemistry is nearing perfection

- Both Jeremy and Darius Johnson stayed after practice to work on the jugs machine

- Smith also stayed late to work in catching punts

- The linebackers as a unit look a lot better in pass coverage than they did last year, which should pay dividends against Baylor

- Chauncey Briggs had a boot on his foot and did not practice. Stephen Nelson and Nick Reed are still out
