Practice Observations

- Zach Wood, Chris Parks, Austin Fuller, Zach Line, and Cameron Rogers were all held out of practice today

- Rogers walked out to the field after practice in a sling and Fuller looked gimpy while walking on the sidelines during practice

- The team worked on special teams a lot today

- Mike Loftus got a lot of work at punter today and did a solid job

- Jeremy Gray, who practiced in sweatpants, got stretched out on the sideline in the middle of practice and got most of the reps in place of the hobbled Chris Parks

- Horace Richardson looked good returning kicks and seems to be the starter at kick return now after taking over against Texas A&M

- Garret Gilbert was off-and-on today in practice. His first pass in 7-on-7's was almost intercepted by Jay Scott on the sideline

- Shakiel Randolph got more reps at safety and made a nice pass deflection in the middle of the field lined up against Gehrig Dieter

- Ajee Montes flashed good footwork in 7-on-7's and came close to making a play on a ball thrown to Darius Johnson

- Gilbert missed a wide open Jeremy Johnson on the left hash and came back on the very next play and threw a perfect ball to him on a post to the sideline between the cornerback and safety

- After catching a pass deep in the secondary, Der'rikk Thompson flipped the ball to Jay Scott who proceeded to throw it back at him while Thompson was running back to the huddle. The gestures looked to be of good nature and not hostility

- It looks as though Stephen Nelson is back in and Arrius Holleman is still working with the practice squad. Ronnell Sims also saw a lot of time in the slot.
