Scouting Report: Everett Dickerson

Leading up to National Signing Day, Pony Stampede will be providing scouting reports on each SMU commit by talking to their high school coaches and gaining insight on the future Mustangs!

Three-star safety Everett Dickerson from Atlanta (TX) became SMU's fourth commitment all back in early May due to SMU's prestigious engineering program and the possibility of early playing time.

Although Dickerson was injured for the better part of the season, he still made a tremendous impact on the field and made a great impression on his coach Matt McClure, who we caught up with to gain some more insight on the future Mustang.

What does Everett need to improve on?

He needs to improve on his strength and flexibility.

What are Everett's best skills and attributes?

Everett's best skill is his quickness and his ability to make people miss in the open field. His best attribute is his tremendous work ethic. He is a tireless worker and leads by example.

How big of an impact did Everett have on your team this year?

Everett had a huge impact on our team this year, to say the least. His leadership on and off the field was outstanding, and his ability to lead by example set a great tone for our entire team.

Why is SMU a good fit for Everett?

SMU is a great place for Everett because of their style of play. He is a kid that can be used in all 3 phases and can play multiple positions both offensively and defensively. SMU is close to home so his family and friends can come support him and watch him play. The academic side of SMU was what he and his family were looking for.
