Quick Twitch Notebook

We take a deeper look at prospects at this weekend's Quick Twitch!

Quick Twitch featured some quality recruits in the May 19th session. Here is q quick report:

Name: Garrett Davis/Red Oak 2014

Brief: Quiet as kept, Garrett Davis is solid as a rock. After seeing some of his teammates leave and go on to other programs, Garrett has decided to stay the course at Red Oak. It's no secret a couple of those teammate left and saw a boost in recruitment once they did, but Garrett feels his talents will show and says since beginning work with DB trainer Clay Mack from Quick Twitch, he is already starting to receive notice.

Report: Davis had a really good showing at Quick Twitch yesterday, his footwork is impressive and he has nice hip flexibility, during 1-on-1's he was solid in press coverage with his jamming ability and also showed great closing speed to break up a number of passes. During the individual drills, he looked smooth and just really stood out in his change of direction and backpedals. Garrett says his footwork is one of his main points of emphasis during summer but is set on improving all fashion of his game.

Interest: There has been a number of school stopping by Red Oak to look at Davis like Texas State, Arkansas State, TCU and Colorado State just to name a few and although Garrett hasn't heard anything yet from SMU, he says ‘I really like SMU and I would definitely go there.' Davis says he is hoping to attend one of SMU's camps this summer as well.

Emmanuel Porter/ Dallas Lincoln 2014

Brief: Porter dropped in for his first ever skill session with WR trainer David Robinson at QT. Porter is a big and physical kid with great athletic ability. Although he is already committed to TCU he continues to pursue the perfection of his craft.

Report: Porter most certainly came to work and you could see the desire to get every detail right during individual drills and when he didn't his frustration was visible. The Lincoln stand out is dead set on improving his game and knows trainer David Robinson can take his skills set to newer heights so when asked about his summer plans it's no surprise that he plan on filling it with lots of 1-on-1 sessions with Robinson. Porter did well in individual drills showing quick feet for an athlete his size and getting in and out of his breaks rather well. "I felt good but I saw a number of things I need to get better at." During the 1-on-1 session Porter was aggressive and fired off the ball with extreme explosiveness showing an ability to eat up the cushion of the DB's when going against off coverage. His footwork was much improved throughout the session. "He is a good WR, he as all the tools, he'll get better with more work and become more consistent with the little things," says Robinson of Porter

Interest: SMU has visited but Porter remains solid to TCU.

Quick Twitch Quick Hits:

- Keaton Duhon doesn't have any offers yet but the Southlake wide receiver is putting in the necessary work to prepare for the upcoming season. Keaton was impressive during his QT session with his route running and catching, also showing willingness to fight and get open while making quick adjustment after mistakes. Keaton could most certainly see a boost in recruiting over the summer so keep an eye on him.

- Devin Williams brought his A-Game to the session. The 2016 quarterback out of FW Southwest had nice velocity on his throws, showed a high level of accuracy, great with his form, and his footwork is a thing of beauty. A recruiting explosion is fully expected for this young man as he plans to attend a number of camps over the summer, which includes SMU, Texas A&M and Baylor. Once you see him in person, it's undeniable how talented he is.
