Brown comments on Shipp's report
Head coach Larry Brown did not have much to say about Brett Shipp's report from last night regarding Keith Frazier's academic eligibility. "500-page report?" he said jokingly. "They haven't even read Obama Care, why am I going to read this?" Brown continued: "The University told me they were handling it and not to worry about it. So, we got a game with South Florida and that's what I'm going to focus on." Brown also said he didn't have time to watch the news report last night. "I didn't see it," he said. "Somebody questioned me at the Houston game about what I thought about kids not going to class and not doing their work. I said it doesn't happen at SMU, not with our program. He asked me if I would be upset if kids didn't go to class or didn't do their work, so I said I would be upset like 367 other Division I coaches. So. I'm focusing in on basketball and I don't think there is anything other than that on my plate right now."
Frazier questionable with ankle injury
Freshman guard Keith Frazier wasn't available for interview before practice, but Brown sounded cautiously optimistic about the injury he suffered last night. "He won't be able to do basketball stuff today, but he will get treatment and hopefully be able to go tomorrow," Brown said. "We'll see." Brown also said it wasn't the same ankle Frazier hurt earlier in the season. "He has swelling, so we will see how he does today," Brown said. "He couldn't go back in the game last night, but again we will see how he does today. We are treating him, we will have a shoot around tomorrow, and than we will take it form there." Frazier rode a stationary bike in a corner of the practice facility and watched the team throughout the whole day.
SMU to release statement later today
SMU PR said they are still reviewing the document and will make a more detailed comment later today. "SMU officials received the 500-page report on the DISD investigation at 8:15 a.m. today. The document is currently being reviewed. SMU will have a statement later this afternoon that provides corrections to a recent media report on the investigation."
- The team was had a very light X's and O's practice so not too much to report on
- The team will be traveling to South Florida this afternoon
- Big man Yanick Moreira continues to rehab his knee, but looked comfortable walking around and working out.
