Rapid Reaction: SMU Falls To Temple

Come inside for our immediate reaction following SMU's loss!

How it happened: The Mustangs started the game on a 11-2 run, but that was the only positive for SMU today. The Mustangs got out rebounded and out hustled by one of the AAC bottom feeders. The Mustangs missed key free throws down the stretch and struggled to get any defensive stops. The Ponies also struggled offensively at times with little contribution from guys like Ryan Manuel, Nick Russell, Cannen Cunningham and Ben Moore.

What it means: Today's game once again proved that the Mustangs are a completely different team on the road that lacks energy. SMU will likely drop out of the top 25 now as well. Thankfully for the Ponies, they will be back in Moody Coliseum this week vs. Houston, which will be an important game to get things going again.

Side note: Keith Frazier once again saw limited playing time in today's game. It is not known whether Frazier is in the doghouse with Larry Brown, or if the freshman has been cut out of the rotation, but with almost no contributions from Sterling Brown, Crandall Head and others, it may be time for Brown to bring Frazier back into the mix.

Up Next: Likely after a long practice on Monday, SMU will try to get back to its winning ways in Moody Coliseum on Wednesday where it will take on Houston. The Mustangs took down the Cougars in Houston by seven in late January.
