Neal Burcham

Quick Hits:

-It was an upbeat practice today. Coaches were yelling and players were hitting hard.

-The starting O played the starting D again.

-The offensive line struggled all morning and there were constantly defensive players in the backfield.

-The defense played with high energy all morning and swarmed to the ball every play.

-The DBs were all over the receivers all practice, especially Ajee Montes and Shakiel Randolph. They had multiple interceptions and countless pass break ups.

-During 7 on 7's, the quarterbacks struggled again to hit their receivers. Connor Preston had an interception and Neal Burcham had an under throw to a wide open WR.

-It seemed as if the only passes completed were underneath routes and short bubble passes. The QBs have yet to get in a passing rhythm.

-Myles Crosby got some reps at safety with the first team and looked like he bulked up over the off-season.

-Horace Richardson made a spectacular diving interception on an out-route from Preston. Then two plays later he jumped another route and took Kolney Cassel's pass to the end zone.

-Prescott Line struggled catching the ball out of the backfield on swing passes, while K.C. Nlemchi had a fumbling problem.

-Things got a little chippy at the end when Jackson Mitchell completely leveled Der'rikk Thompson. The next play Thompson caught another pass and Mitchell shoved him to the grounded. Mitchell started talking trash so Thompson threw the ball in his face. Luckily that was that, and nothing escalated.
