Terrance Ferguson, 6'6'' shooting guard: During drills, Ferguson struggled to keep up with the smaller and quicker guards he was with. He is long and as a 2016 recruit he likely has more room to grow so it would not be surprising if he is categorized as a small forward by the time he is a senior. In the game Ferguson seemed faster than everyone else on the court. Twice he completely slipped past the defense for an easy fast break dunk. He also made a nice pass in the pick-and-roll for a layup. Most of all, you notice how much Ferguson loves the game and how much fun has playing.
Sedrick Barefield, 6'2" point guard: The SMU commit struggled with the same problem at the camp that plagued every point guard there: lack of chemistry with new teammates. A number of times, Barefield saw his teammates cutting to the basket and he tried to get them the ball but the timing was not there. Otherwise Barefield's jump shot was falling and he was physical on defense. All weekend Barefield was on the same team as Jimmy Whitt and Malik Beasley, combo guards who are being recruited by SMU. Before the game Saturday, Barefield was talking and laughing with both of them.
De'Aaron Fox, 6'2'' point guard: Fox is a dynamic offensive player. He can shoot well from all ranges. He also has explosive speed that allows him to blow past his defender in the half court for easy layups. His passes are crisp and accurate and on defense he gambles for steals. One play he stole the ball and made a perfect bounce pass up the court to his teammate for the bucket. Off the court, Fox keeps his team loose with his sense of humor. He and Ferguson were on the same team this weekend and were messing around with each other throughout the day.
For the next Pangos All-American Camp recap, Adam saw D-Jery Baptiste, Jimmy Whitt and Malik Beasley.
