Corbett Has Spot in the 2015 Class

OLB Austin Corbett has been in constant contact with Tom Mason, who tells him that he still has a spot in the 2015 class.

Class of 2015 Plano East outside linebacker Austin Corbett remains a target for the Mustangs, despite the commitments of Delontae and Michael Scott.

Corbett and fellow 2015 linebacker Mitchell Kaufman both remain two of SMU's final targets to fill their linebacker quota.

"He (Coach Mason) said there are still two spots available," Corbett said. "I think he said he was saving one for me and one for another guy from Highland Park."

Offered back in December, Corbett has kept in regular contact with his recruiter, Coach Tom Mason.

"We've been talking pretty much every weekend," Corbett said. "I actually went on a visit during one of their camps around June third or fourth and it was awesome. I've been there many times, but every time I see it I find something new I like."

At this time, Corbett does not have a favorite school, but he does have a top five with SMU in it.

"It (SMU) is still really high on my list considering I have a few offers," Corbett said. "It's really high up there especially since it's so close, which is nice."

Corbett said he hopes to visit it all of the schools who have offered him before making his final decision.

Besides SMU, Corbett holds offers from Air Force, Cornell, New Mexico, UTSA, Louisiana-Monroe and Nevada. The 6-foot-4, 218-pound rising senior also said he plans on committing in late July or early August.
