June Jones Press Conference

Der'rikk Thompson Q&A

Darrion Richardson Q&A

Q:How was your summer?
DR: It was pretty good. Came in every morning to lift weights and we ran in the afternoons, so it was pretty good.

Q: Other than football what did you do to keep yourself busy?
DR: I stretched a lot, and they put me in a dance class, so I did that and ran some more on my own.

Q: What was the dance class like?
DR: We would go in and stretch for about an hour. We’d dance and move around a bit.

Q: Do you feel like it helped you be a better football player?
DR: Yea it helped me a lot. Like I learned a couple different stretches that are pretty good. So I do those on my own now.

Q: It seems like there are a lot of talented guys fighting for the starting safety spots. Can you talk a little bit about the competition that’s going on there?
DR: It’s good competition. I got AJ Justice behind me, so that makes me work harder to help my team. And all the other guys, I just learn from them and during film study, we learn from each other. If I make mistake or they make a mistake, we all learn from it.

Q: What is your overall impression of the defense so far?
DR: I think this year the defense will be pretty good. We are fast, physical and we should have a lot of stops this season.

Q: What do you think about opening up against Baylor?
DR: We are just going to do what the coaches ask of us and get our alignments, assignments and technique right. And just play to come out with a W.
