2014 Recap

Brown really impressed fans his first year on the Hilltop with solid fundamentals, as well as, taking in everything coach Brown told him. Brown was praised for his solid defense and rebounding in his first year for the Mustangs. The freshman started 26 games and averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Outlook in 2014

Brown is primed for a big year with the Mustangs. Early on in practice, the sophomore guard has been noticeably more vocal and trying to take on more of a leadership role on this team. Brown also had the opportunity to play overseas which he noted helped him become more physical because of the style of play internationally. Brown comes into this season with a ton more muscle than he did last year and certainly looks as though he has the size to fit into the 3 spot well.

While only a sophomore, Brown will need to take the next step if this team is going to make the NCAA tournament. The Mustangs will need to replace the scoring and leadership that Nick Russell and Shawn Williams provided. It will be important this season for Brown to provide a little more of a scoring punch, especially shots from the outside where he has looked much improved.
