SMU DE Zach Wood Q&A

SMU QB Garrett Krstich Q&A

Spotlight: Garrett Krstich

Overall, Krstich looked better and more accurate today. He did have a couple of overthrows, but for the most part he hit his receivers right in the hands. On the goal line, Krstich looked accurate as well throwing to the boundaries a couple of times and hitting his receivers every time (although Darius Joseph did drop one however). Garrett did have one pass intercepted but it was off of a dropped pass over the middle

Practice Quick Hits

Nate Halverson looks like he is carrying over the momentum from his solid outing against Cincinnati into this week. He is certainly making the most out of his increased looks.

— Garrett Krstich looked sharp today, he certainly looking more and more confident every day- his receivers think so too.

— Looks like the Taylor Lacseki and Evan Brown experiment is continuing this week as they were still switched around with Brown at center. Either the coaching staff liked what that lineup did, or they want to give it another look.

— Liked the energy overall from the linebacker corp today. Jonathan Yenga was flying around, and so was Kevin Pope.

Jordan Miller made a nice play on a ball- tipping a pass that was behind him and then making the interception. He had wall if blockers in front of him, so it probably would have been a pick six.

Shakiel Randolph looked good in coverage. He’ll need to play well on Saturday because Memphis has a bunch of receivers they like to get the ball to.

Darius Durall was not in pads today and was mostly an observer during practice.

— Kiefer Roberts, a walk-on, was seen taking some reps with the first team offensive line today. Mason wasn’t sure why he was in there over regular starters…and says he doesn’t know too much about the kid either.

Ajee Montes is recovering from a concussion and is day to day according to Mason.

— Mason also said that K.C. Nlemchi is for sure out against Memphis but could return for Tulsa.
