2013-14 recap

There's really no reason to even grade Mudiay's 2013-14 campaign. Some people though Mudiay would see some minutes now that his knees were healthy, but that just wasn't the case. Mudiay was signed to SMU to lure his brother to campus and although he did appear in eight games, Mudiay pulled down just two rebounds in nine minutes. He doesn't have great athleticism because of his multiple knee surgeries and wasn't at all in the picture for minutes in AAC play.

Outlook in 2014

Mudiay is a veteran voice that has been around Brown's program for a year and can help reinforce Larry Brown's message to the team this year. Instead of being a manager, Mudiay will play for SMU this year although in a very limited role. Mudiay is another body in practice for Brown to work with plus he can be subbed in late to foul if needed as well. Don't expect much, but for a team that has so much depth, it needs players like Mudiay, Jonathan Wilfong and Kevin Dunleavy to do some dirty work in practice.
