Larry Brown Q&A
LOOKING LIKE A TEAM
Coming off the win at Tulane, the team was upbeat and loose. Everyone smiled and laughed a lot, and guys were poking fun at each other too. Coach Brown still let the team hear it when a play wasn’t run to his liking, which happened a fair amount. But afterward, everyone was quick to be encouraging and shake it off. Semi Ojeleye also looks like he is starting to become closer with the guys.
CANNEN CUNNINGHAM KEEPS UP THE ENERGY
A day after his stellar game at Tulane, Cannen Cunnihgham practice with the energy and passion he showed in his seven-point, 10-rebound performance in New Orleans. He attacked the rim off the dribble in the lane and was flying after a couple rebounds, although Coach Brown was on him a couple times, telling him to drive even harder.
WHEN IN DOUBT, DRIVE
Coach Brown repeated that driving to the hoop is the key to everything. He said that everyone should look to “rip it” and drive from the perimeter, and that should set up a close shot, open look or a foul. While they still shot some threes, Coach Brown said to always look to drive first then look to pass in into the paint/close to the rim.
