Official Visit Weekend Primer

SMU only has a couple uncommitted prospects coming to Dallas for the weekend, but get the lowdown on SMU's shot at landing them in this primer!

Uncommitted Prospect

Positional Rank: NR
Official visits scheduled: None other visits planned.
Notes: Jones will likely become the second running back to commit to SMU when he visits this weekend. Jones is shifty and can make the big plays, but is built a little more compact than SMU's other commit Braeden West. Getting Jones into space will be a big focus in the SMU offense.
Commitment probability: 99 percent

Prospect Committed Elsewhere

Positional Rank: NR
Official visits scheduled: Tulsa- Jan. 23.
Notes: Wilds will fill a huge position of need for the Mustangs if the staff can get him to flip. SMU has the guard depth, but athletic, 6-7 offensive tackles don't grow on trees. The SMU staff will roll out the red carpet for Wilds on his visit and hope that he and Jones see a bright future in SMU's up-tempo offense together.
Commitment probability: 70 percent

SMU Commits

Positional Rank: NR
Official visits scheduled: None other visits planned.
Notes: McNeil was one of SMU's first commits and is a big, yet raw offensive lineman. McNeil will make the drive up from San Antonio to check out his future program.

Positional Rank: #187 in the country, #38 in Texas.
Official visits scheduled: None other scheduled.
Notes: The SMU commit was able to jump on the train after D'Erren Wilson's decommitting, but SMU is better off with this tall, receiver that should see some immediate playing time in the offense.

Positional Rank: #95 in the country, #16 in Texas.
Official visits scheduled: None other scheduled.
Notes: One of SMU's latest commits visited unofficially last Sunday to commit to the Mustangs. He's said that he's looking to take his official this weekend for a full preview for life as a Mustang.
