Burcham tears ACL, likely out 2015 season

A source in the SMU athletic department told Pony Stampede that SMU quarterback Neal Burcham has torn his ACL.

Burcham was expected to compete for the starting quarterback position in new SMU head coach Chad Morris' up-tempo system along with Matt Davis and January enrollee Ben Hicks.

In his redshirt sophomore year, Burcham started the first two games for SMU before a season-ending shoulder injury.

Burcham totaled 158 passing yards and two interceptions in SMU's two losses to Baylor and North Texas, completing 56.3 percent of his pass attempts.
