2013-14 Recap

Wilfong played in seven games last season and totaled just seven points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 22 minutes of play. Still, despite his lack of playing time, he managed to give us one of the best moments of the season. It was January 2015 and SMU was up 75-52 over ECU and Wilfong jumped a passing lane, trotted down the court for an easy dunk, and Moody lost its mind.
Grade: A

Outlook in 2015-16

Why an A? Well, because he has a certain role on this team and he did a solid job in said role. Don’t expect to see anything too different from the past two seasons. Wilfong might get some more playing time earlier in the season, but unless there are a ton of injuries or games are decided early, we won’t seem him too often. What is his role exactly? His primary contribution to this team is his work in practice. He is a body that can create/simulate competition for SMU’s starters and major contributors. He knows his role on the team and has embraced it. That’s why SMU loves him.
