<p>October brought a small uptick in commitments for American Athletic Conference teams including seven Scout 300 players making their decision. With the recent activity and some updated player rankings, every AAC team has at least one three-star commit.
1. SMU: 23 commits

Spears held offers from Houston, Kansas, Texas Tech, Texas State and Utah State. Just five days later, Chad Morris and Co. landed an important commit along the defensive line in three-star Denton (Texas) Ryan defensive tackle Ken McLaurin. A 6-foot-2, 285-pound pocket disrupter, McLaurin picked the Mustangs over Boise State, Colorado State, Illinois, Iowa State, UMass, Nevada, North Texas, Texas State and Toledo. He’s Scout’s 52nd-ranked defensive tackle in the nation.

Dallas. Rodgers is a former South Carolina offensive lineman and Army All-American who is originally from Maryland. He’s 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds and picked the Cougars over Arizona State, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Missouri and West Virginia. He received a medical redshirt for one of his two seasons at South Carolina and redshirted the other, so he has three years of eligibility left.

Aaron is Scout’s 80th-ranked quarterback in the class and held offers from Nevada, San Jose State and UNLV
7. South Florida: 9 commits

Dunn was a huge commitment when he pledged back in August, picking USF over Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia, Iowa State, Kentucky, Tulane, Virginia and Wisconsin. Dunn took an official visit to Iowa State in early October.

Navy was the Honaker’s only offer while the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Long held offers from Air Force and Army.
9. Tulsa: 11 commits
Top-rated commit: Houston Reagan three-star inside linebacker Robert Revels, Scout’s 14th-ranked ILB and second-ranked in Texas
Commits by position: QB (1) RB (0) WR (1) TE (0) OL (4) DL (0) LB (3) DB (1) ATH (1) specialists (0)

Commits by position: QB (1) RB (0) WR (3) TE (1) OL (0) DL (0) LB (0) DB (2) ATH (1) specialists (0)

Commits by position: QB (0) RB (0) WR (2) TE (0) OL (0) DL (1) LB (0) DB (2) ATH (0) specialists (0)
Recent activity: It’s gone from bad to worse in Orlando after George O’Leary stepped down as head coach and interim athletic director. UCF had a slow start to the cycle, but its 0-8 record hasn’t helped. The Knights lost two-star Tampa (Fla.) Wharton wide receiver Devontres Dukes, who has set officials to North Carolina State and Middle Tennessee State. However, they did flip two-star Miami Norland cornerback Byron Brown from Florida International. UCF offered him in early October and he flipped on Oct. 21.
