"It was great, the coaching staff was amazing and treated me like a son. Overall it was awesome, a beautiful campus in a beautiful area," Huhn said.
The 6-7, 270-pound offensive lineman said that SMU talked with him about the recruiting process and SMU in general, but when Huhn got to talk with Chad Morris more about the process, he had some advice.
"Well it was me and another tackle, but he was talking about how they wanted 3 tackles from 2017 and that he liked both of us," the three-star said. "He also touched on early commitments. Just saying that it might be good to commit by senior year...just in case of injuries."
His conversation with offensive line coach Dustin Fry has been building a good relationship with Huhn after offering a few weeks ago.
"Me and coach Fry are pretty good together, he treats me like a son. We talked about my recruitment and about how he really liked me and would love to see me at SMU," Huhn said.
Huhn didn't know what to expect from SMU before he went out there, but after touring the campus, the facilities and talking with the staff, his expectations were more than met.
"It really opened my eyes to how prestigious the coaching staff was and how beautiful the campus was. I knew it was a nice campus, but it blew my expectations."
Huhn said he could see himself at SMU and was pleasantly surprised to be, but still has plenty of other visits to take. His favorite part though was the entire feeling the staff gave him.
"Definitely the coaching staff. They're fired up to be there and they're fired up about me!"
On the docket for Huhn's upcoming trips are Texas this Saturday, Houston in April, UTSA on March 5, and Rice on March 12.
