“Coach [Buddy Wyatt] and coach [Justin Stepp] invited me back in January,” Bimage said. “I’ve been in touch with the SMU coaches for a long time now—since my sophomore year.”
When he left, he added an offer from SMU to his first offer from Houston. The 6-2 215-pound outside linebacker says he is also getting a lot of attention from programs like California, Kansas, TCU, Baylor, Texas A&M.
All in all, Bimage was pleased with how junior day went and said the school certainly left an impression on him.
“I really liked how the coaches and all the other people were,” the Houston commit said. “They just seemed like really genuine people. The visit was great. The Campus was really beautiful.”
Bimage says that when he is considering potential schools, he likes to look at his intended major and how that school’s program matches up against others. Right now, he plans on majoring in business and/or kinesiology.
He also knows, particularly with the SMU football team, that it is important to look at where a school is headed and not so much where they are at or what they’ve done lately.
“SMU is school coming up,” he said. “The coaches just got there and are working on the program so, just got to wait and see what they do.”
Bimage says that the whole recruiting process has been a lot of fun so far, but also very hectic. At the moment, he doesn’t have any more visits planned, but know he wants visit more schools in the near future.
