After helping Arp HS (Tex.) to their first state semi-final appearance since 2000 and only their second one ever, 2017 running back and SMU commit Kayce Medlock was proud of what this team was able to accomplish in his last season.
“It went very well, it was amazing I went to war with some brothers and we just did something that nobody thought we could ever do, we just owned it,” Medlock said.
Even during the season, Medlock has also stayed in constant contact with SMU coaches, Chad Morris, Claude Mathis, Joe Craddock and Dustin Fry.
“Everything has been going great, I talk to them just about every day,” Medlock told Scout, “They always call and check up on me every other day and everything is going great.”
The coaches will also see Medlock a lot in the coming weeks as they will be in for an in-home visit on January 18th and his official visit soon after.
“I’m very excited about it, I can’t wait for it to get here,” Medlock said, “I’m very excited me and the boys in the group message have been talking about it, how much fun we’re going to have, we’re ready for it.” http://www.scout.com/college/southern-methodist/story/1743059-2017-qb-fl...
After a great season for Arp, Medlock has continued to receive looks from a number of schools including an offer from Houston last week, but maintained he is still solid to SMU.
“I think it was great and I feel very blessed about it,” Medlock told Scout, “I’m solid with SMU, I don’t have plans for a visit [to Houston].”
Similar to how Medlock and his teammates turned around Arp, he feels SMU is on the verge of doing something special, but is still a work in progress.
“We’re still developing it’s a work in progress there is more to come out, we’ll come out on top.”
