Linebacker Daniel Prior picked up his fourth offer Friday with Southern Methodist University extending an official offer sheet.

Prior from Henderson, Tx, who already has offers from Rice, Utah State and Iowa State, told PonyStampede.com Monday afternoon that the offer was a pleasant surprise.

"It's exciting to get an offer from SMU," Prior said. "I was just as thrilled and happy with my latest offer as I was with the others. SMU is a great school and it's close to home."

According to Prior the offer from the Mustangs came Friday afternoon, the standout linebacker will definitely take a trip to the Hilltop to check things out this summer.

"I plan on going to one of their senior day camps," Prior said. "If for some reason I don't I will definitely take an unofficial visit to SMU to see the campus and get to know the coaches better."

Although Prior has never seen the campus at SMU, he has heard nothing but great things about the school.

"One of my coaches has a brother that coach there," Prior said. "My coach is always telling me great things about the school."

Others schools showing interest in the talented 6-foot-2, 215 pound middle linebacker.

"Right now I would have to say that Baylor seems really close to offering," Prior said. "Northwestern, North Texas and Oklahoma State are also showing a lot of interest."

Prior will take the ACT next month and currently has a 3.25 G.P.A.
