Growing up going to SMU football games since he was 10 years old, Aledo's Christian Miller admits he has a lot of family ties to the Mustang football program.

Miller currently has a brother attending SMU that will be a junior this fall, his uncle David and grandmother all attended school on the Hilltop.

"I have probably been to every home game for the last eight years," Miller told PonyStampede.com. "When SMU offered me recently, I thought wow this is exciting. This is something I have always wanted."

While Miller isn't close to ending his recruitment, he is glad that he is currently holding two official offers.

"It's always great to get that first offer," Miller said. "I have two right now from SMU and Utah. Kansas and Arizona and Kansas State all seem close to offering."

Miller has been impressed and excited about the arrival of June Jones at SMU.

"I feel very good about Coach Jones taking over here at SMU," Miller said. "I feel that he will turn around this program around just like he did at Hawaii. He has assembled a first class coaching staff, this is a team I could see being a part of."

Miller has had a chance to meet Coach Jones first hand.

"He is so excited about being at SMU," Miller said. "He is a great guy, I met the offensive line coach also, and he was great to talk to."

Will Miller stay in state or go outside the Lone Star borders to play football?

"I would say on a scale of 1-10, I would say that staying in state would rate an 8," Miller said. "Right now I don't have a favorite. I'm trying to hold out and see what all my opportunities are going to be."

Miller plans on attending summer camps at SMU, Utah, Kansas and Arizona for sure. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound athlete runs a 5.2 forty, missed over five games last season due to a knee injury.

Miller already has scored a 1550 on the SAT and holds a 3.75 G.P.A.
