Southern Methodist University had two unofficial visitors this past weekend, the New Orleans duo left the Hilltop with a great impression of the Mustangs.

Phillip Blitch along with Brother Martin teammate Joey Fontana made a quick stop in Dallas on Sunday to check out things at SMU.

"It was a very good trip," Blitch told PonyStampede.com Sunday evening. "I liked it a lot there. Beautiful facilities, the coaching staff was very relaxed and laid back, while very confident at the same time."

Blitch's parents also made the trip with the standout defensive tackle and left Dallas equally impressed.

"They loved it," Blitch said. "They fell in love with the campus."

After a trip to Dallas, the Blitch family was enroute to Colorado and then Stanford before returning home to New Orleans.

"We are going to check out two other schools before going back home," Blitch said. "I really liked the atmosphere at SMU, such a great campus, right next door to downtown Dallas."

Blitch, a 6-foot-2, 270-pound defensive tackle that runs a 4.7 forty, is still searching for offers.

"Right now ULM is my only offer," Blitch said. "I feel that Colorado may be close, SMU seems close."

Blitch has already scored a 28 on the ACT and currently holds a 3.8 G. P.A.
