Several high prospects are making the rounds this summer checking out campus and attending certain schools summer camps.
Alabama's Wilson Van Hooser attended camp at Southern Mississippi last week and at Southern Methodist on Wednesday. The talented wide receiver will camp at Troy today and Auburn on Saturday and Sunday.
"Camp at SMU was great," Van Hooser told PonyStampede.com. "It was definitely the best one I have been at so far."
Van Hooser is still waiting on his first official offer, something he is hoping happens at the Dallas based school.
"I'm really hoping SMU offers," Van Hooser said. "They wanted me to come back this weekend to participate in the one day camp. Now I'm going to wait and call them back to see how I stacked up with the guys that show up this weekend."
Van Hooser didn't have a lot of free time Wednesday, but did get an opportunity to see some of the campus.
"It was incredible," Van Hooser said. "SMU would be an awesome place for me to play at."
Van Hooser, a 6-foot-0, 180-pound athlete that runs a 4.4 forty, feels like he fits in to June Jones' offensive package.
"I use my speed along with my intelligence to run better routes," Van Hooser said. "I'm a perfect fit for this offense."
The speedy wide out was also impressed with Coach Jones and his coaching staff.
"They are my favorite coaching staff so far," Van Hooser said. "They are so laid back. Everything that they do is encouraging; there was nothing negative about their coaching approach."
Van Hooser plans on taking an official visit to SMU, and is excited about the possibility of being a Mustang.
"Playing for this coaching staff would make my four or five in college a very fun time," Van Hooser said. "I think I have done my part, now I will have to wait and see where I fit into their program."
