Over 250 high school athletes celebrated Father's Day by attending Southern Methodist University's one day Junior Camp.

Many of the fathers of the campers were on hand to watch their performances, while some might question why they would spend Father's Day on a football field; one father put it in prospective.

"What better Father's Day present than to get a scholarship offer," one father commented. "That's the present I'm wanting."

At least six campers in attendance already had SMU offers, two ended up giving their pledge before the day was over.

Dallas Skyline's Chris Frazier and Aledo's Christian Miller pulled the trigger, making their pledges to become Mustangs.

Other campers who has offers in attendance included Dewayne Peace, Marcus Trice, Daniel Prior, Ross Rasner, and Chris Atkinson.

Area prospects included Darnell and Darius Taylor among just a few. Quarterbacks on hand from across the state include San Antonio's Drew Allen and Ryan Eastman of the Woodlands.

"What a great turnout today," Randy Ross Director of Football Operations at SMU said. "We are extremely pleased with our camps so far, today's attendance is very impressive."

The Mustangs will continue today with a two day camp for campers from second grade to eighth grade. On Wednesday SMU will host 24 high school teams in a 7-on-7 passing camp.
