West Rusk DE commits to Mustangs

Southern Methodist University picked up its seventh commitment for its 2009 class earlier Tuesday when Scout.com three star defensive end Braylon Williams of West Rusk committed to the Mustangs. The standout athlete plays defensive end and tight end for his high school team; he is unsure where SMU wants him to play.

Southern Methodist University picked up its seventh commitment for its 2009 class earlier Tuesday when Scout.com three star defensive end Braylon Williams of West Rusk committed to the Mustangs.

"Yes Braylon committed to SMU today," said Mrs. Williams late Tuesday night. "He told his high school coach today that SMU was the school for him. They contacted SMU and gave them the news."

The standout athlete plays defensive end and tight end for his high school team; he is unsure where SMU wants him to play.

"They told me if I decided to come to SMU they would decide which side of the ball I would play on," Williams said. "It doesn't matter to me as long as I get to play college ball."

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound athlete that runs a 4.8 forty, is also a great student. He currently has a 3.0 G.P.A. and will take the ACT for the first time next month.
