One thing appeared clear from June Jones' press conference on Monday, it won't matter what decision Conference USA makes in reference to suspending Mustang defensive end Anthony Sowe.
"I have already made my decision," Jones said Monday morning. "It probably doesn't matter what the league decides, I have already decided."
While Jones didn't say 100 percent that Sowe wouldn't play this Saturday against Central Florida, he did say that it was apparent what Sowe had done on the game film from Thursday's Tulane game. Instant replay on television showed Sowe taking a swing at Tulane player.
"He should have been thrown out of Thursday's game against Tulane and another game this week," Jones confirmed. "That's not the kind of stuff I will tolerate on this team."
Jones showed last week that he is going to run a discipline program when he suspended back up quarterback Logan Turner and true freshman Quincy Whittington for undisclosed violations of team rules.
Turner didn't make the trip to Tulane last week and is suspended for this week's game against UCF.
When asked about who would be the quarterback if something happened to true freshman Bo Levi Mitchell, Jones was quick to respond.
"We only took two quarterbacks last week and will do the same this week," Jones said. "Braden Smith is the other quarterback that made the trip. If an emergency situation arose, we could use Justin Willis."
Willis has been moved to wide receiver.
