June Jones Run and Shoot offense is one of the major reasons that one of the area's top wide receivers chose the Mustangs Saturday night.

Scout.com three star prospect Chayse Joubert of Duncanville High School confirmed that he now a Mustang.

"Yes sir I actually committed to the coaches last night," Joubert said. "I wanted to wait and make it official after talking it over with my mother. It's official; I'm very excited about being a Pony."

According to Joubert, a 6-foot1, 175-pound athlete with 4.4 speed, the Mustangs want him to play wide receiver on the Hilltop.

"I can play both wide out and defensive back, they are recruiting me to play wide receiver," Joubert said Sunday afternoon. "I love June Jones, I love his offense and I feel this is a perfect fit for me."

SMU isn't Joubert's only offer; he also has one from the Miami Hurricanes.

"Right now I have two offers, SMU and Miami," Joubert confirmed. "SMU is a program on the rise, it's in my hometown and I want to be part of something special that Jones is doing here."

Joubert was impressed with SMU's game against Tulsa.

"SMU was definitely the better team tonight," Joubert said. "We should have won the ballgame hands down. This is going to be a great place for me to play; I can't explain how excited I am."

Joubert makes pledge No. 21 so far for Jones' 2009 recruiting class, another current Mustang pledge has a connection with the talented wide receiver.

"Chris Atkinson and I are great friends," Joubert said. "We have been talking about the possibility of playing on the same college team. We are both every excited about going to SMU."
