SMU is in need of immediate help on the defensive line, especially the interior positions with the upcoming graduation of Serge Elizee and Patrick Handy.

It appears that the Mustangs may have found a solution to part of the problem.

Native Samoan Nathan Mageo of New Mexico Military Institute confirmed with PonyStampede.com that he plans on taking an official visit to the Hilltop early in December.

"I will definitely take an official visit to SMU," Mageo said. "It looks like I will be taking the trip on December 9th."

Mageo currently has official offers from Hawaii, Troy, Kansas State, North Texas and Baylor, does he have an offer from SMU?

"Not officially yet," Mageo said. "Coach Reinebold said he was confident they will offer me, he took film back with to Dallas last week."

Mageo is very impressed with June Jones and would love playing for the veteran coach.

"Jones is an idol in Samoa," Mageo said. "It would be an honor for me to play for him; I hope the offer is on the way. If they offer, SMU is definitely one of my top favorites."

Mageo, a 6-foot-3, 280 pound defensive tackle who runs a 4.9 forty, has had four sack so far this season and over 20 tackles for losses.
