But one school that might also be making a play for Marshall is SMU. Does Marshall have interest in the Mustangs?
"I went to a game and they seem to have a good program. They have a good coaching staff and they are right up the street from my house," said Marshall. "I'm planning on taking some visits so I can get to know the coaching staff better and check out the campus."
Struggling to stay healthy much of the year, Marshall received 42 carries for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 15 catches out of the backfield for two scores.
The back has a 4.6 forty and bench presses 315 pounds. He squats 415 pounds and describes himself more as a Larry Johnson running back compared to Reggie Bush.
"I am more power runner, I like to get to the hole quick and get going in the secondary," said Marshall.
Marshall has no timetable on when he would like to commit but did tell us what he will be looking for in his school of choice.
"I'm looking for a school that will meet my academic needs and has a good graduation rate," said Marshall. "I will see how the environment of the school is and how I feel when I visit. Location and how close it is to home will also be a major factor."
The Mesquite Skeeters struggled this season finishing the year 5-5 and missing the playoffs. Marshall says he thinks his senior year will go much smoother and that the Skeeters will rebound in 2009.
It'll be a busy summer in Mesquite as Robert plans on camping at Kansas along with playing for Mesquite's seven on seven team which was the 2008 State Runner-Up last summer at the State Tournament.
PonyStampede.com will have more Robert Marshall updates as they become available.
