PonyStampede.com has confirmed that Klein linebacker/defensive end Kevin Kisseberth will be on the SMU campus today for an unofficial. Kisseberth recorded 40 solo tackles and 2 sacks last season. His stat line earned him All-State honorable mention honors as a junior. He also played tight end catching 8 balls for 120 yards.

"I like SMU. They are a really nice school. It's right up there with my favorites. I don't have a list of top schools right now. I don't like one more than the other," reported the junior to PonyStampede.com. "Tulane says they are going to probably offer me on Friday, and Rice, Northwestern, and Houston are close."

Kisseberth will return to lead a defense that finished the 2008 season 4-6 overall and 4-3 in conference.

"I know SMU runs the spread offense, but other than that I don't know much about the football team. I do know the campus is really nice and the school is great for academics," said Kisseberth. "I haven't talked to them much. I just started talking to them a week ago. So I'm guessing they will not offer."

So what are schools recruiting Kisseberth as? Some Texas high school scouts feel he could play three different positions in college. It is believed that SMU is giving him looks as a linebacker.

"It's different for every school. Northwestern is talking to me about being a linebacker, Tulane and Houston are talking to me about tight end, and Rice is talking me as a defensive end," stated Kisseberth.

Kisseberth is currently 6'3 , 215 pounds. He runs a self reported 4.61 forty. What is he trying to work on before next season?

"I would like to gain about 10 more pounds and get down to a high 4.5 forty," said Kisseberth. "I like my strength the way it is now, I think it's pretty good, I just need to get a little quicker."

PonyStampede.com will have Kevin Kisseberth updates throughout the day including a video chat with him at some point. Stay close to the site for update to date information on Kisseberth.
