"They have not given me a solid offer yet, but they say that I'm on a list of potential offers. They told me that they would like to see me in person before they offered," stated Fougerousse. "All I have heard is great things about the school. I'm also looking for a great academic place. I'm really excited to visit. I hear the campus is beautiful and that the school is great. Coach Reinebold seems like a really great guy. He has been telling me everything that I need to know. He seems to really care."
The 6-1, 220-pound inside linebacker runs a 4.69 forty. Last season, Fougerousse played a big part in the Screaming Eagles defense by registering 80 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble recovery. Parkview Baptist finished the season 9-2 overall, after winning the state championship the year before. This season, the Screaming Eagles will be young on offense, but return almost their entire defense.
"We don't have many starters back on the offensive line, but on defense almost everyone is back. If we can get solid line play, with our good returning quarterback and running back, we will be pretty good again," said the junior linebacker. "I have been hitting the weights hard. Pretty much non-stop. We just started to run outside again. I have really been trying to transform my body. I'm also trying to set up and be a better leader on the team. I'm trying to lead and help out the young guys."
So when does Fougerousse want to make his decision?
"It kind of depends on who offers me. I'm not going to wait until the last minute, but I might wait a little bit to see what opportunities come to me," said the 2010 prospect. "Academics are really important to me. I want to go into Biological Science and to be a doctor. I'm looking for an inviting campus. I want there to be a lot of stuff to do with a nice campus. That is why I like SMU, because it's in Dallas."
Fougerousse benches 345 pounds and squats 465. He got a 30 on his ACT and has a 3.9 GPA We will have an update next week on how his visit at SMU went this weekend!
