With SMU only looking to take one maybe two offensive lineman in the 2010 recruiting class, a recruit has to be a no miss prospect. James Madison's Javious Townsend fits the mold. With thirteen offers in hand at this point, Townsend is quickly becoming one of the most sought after lineman in the state of Texas.

Schools like SMU, UNT, UTEP, Idado, Colorado State, Minnesota, Buffalo, New Mexico State, San Diego St, and Tulsa have all offered, but Townsend is keeping his recruiting open at this point. He reports no favorites with every school having something to offer.

"I'm completely open right now. I want to go to a school that I feel comfortable with the coaching staff and the team. I also need to fit into the offensive scheme they have," stated the soon to be senior to "I haven't been to any camps where I participated, but I did go to SMU. It was pretty good. I went to really watch. They have a pretty good coaching staff."

Like most offensive lineman, the 6-3, 300-pound tackle had his eyes on SMU line coach Dennis McKnight. McKnight is handling the recruiting duties for Townsend.

"Coach McKnight is my coach. He is a really cool guy. He was in the NFL. I could see him being a coach I could play."

Currently benching 300 pounds and squatting 480, Townsend is in no hurry to make a decision on where he will be playing some day

"I need to talk it over with my parents, so I'm not sure when I will be looking to make a decision. I want to take some official visits in the fall," said the offensive tackle. "This summer, I'm just going to keep working out and get even more dedicated to football."
