Will Clemmons switch?
On Monday, Coach Jones and Coach Reinebold visited Ashton Duhe for an official in-home visit. On Tuesday, Coach Jones headed to Oklahoma. PonyStampede.com can only assume that it was for running back Darryl Fields. Earlier this week, Reinebold visited defensive end Lawrence Cayou for an in-home visit. Today, Coach Klemm will visit Tennessee offensive tackle Cameron Clemmons, hoping to sway the senior from Western Kentucky to SMU.

"Really to be completely honest, we are out recruiting 2011," stated Coach June Jones to PonyStampede.com on Tuesday. "When Randy and I talked last year, we talked about how we needed to get to a point where we were doing home visits just so we knew the kids wouldn't bolt on us. We are going out to the schools and getting names from the coaches. So that when we go back out in May, we can make our offers."

While the SMU coaching staff maybe is focusing a lot of their attention on the 2011 class, there are still some things to clean up when it comes to 2010. Will Don Canyon switch to Morgan State or Northwestern State? Will Clemmons switch to SMU? Plus, how many guys are the Mustangs counting on not making it in the 2010 class academically? Will they be replaced?

"There is always room for improvement. I feel that we have done a good job getting out and about," said Jones. "We have had a lot of coaches come here and look at us as well. It takes years of getting out there and doing it. But, in both Louisiana and Texas, I feel that we have made a lot of head way."

"I like going out and meeting people. It doesn't wear me out. I want kids that want to come here. I'm not going to beg them to come. That makes you a better football team and it keeps the chemistry in the locker room at the right pace."
