Considered one of the best juco defensive tackles in the country, Arizona Western's Jesse Williams has double digits offers, picking up the latest one yesterday from an old familiar coaching staff.
"SMU offered me yesterday,"stated Williams to PonyStampede.com. "I'm really trying to keep an even playing field with everyone, and not establish any favorites. I want to try to take in everything from everyone and keep them the same. I know that the SMU coaches are great people and they helped me a lot at Hawaii."
June Jones originally offered the and eventually signed the Australian product, but Williams couldn't get accepted into the school.
So Williams went the juco route, heading to Arizona Western Junior College in Yuma, AZ. He had great success for the Matadors in 2009, recording 46 tackles, 6.5 TFLs and 3.5 sacks in route to being named 1st team All-ACCAC and 2nd team All-WSFL.
At 6'4, 340 pounds, Williams described himself as an all around defensive tackle. One that can knock an offensive lineman back, but yet also use his speed to get around the lineman.
What is Williams looking for in a school?
"I want to make an impact immediately," said the defensive tackle. "Plus finding a good school academically would be nice."
At this point, Williams is a four-star player, but could be upgraded to a five-star in the future.
