"I liked the vibe I was getting from the school and the campus. It was pretty good," said Smith on Wednesday night. "I really liked the classroom size. The facilities were nice and the way the program is heading, it's a good school."
"I think they want me to play defensive end, if I go to SMU. Coach Hill said that I would be a benefit to the school and the team," said Smith. "I want a school with great academics and a good football team. A team that wants to win. I also want a good relationship with the coaching staff."
With SMU in a good position right now, fans are hopeful that the junior is wanting to commit early, but right now, there is not timetable for a decision.
"I really can't put a time on it, I would love to give you a date, I would love it for myself," said Smith.
So how does he describe himself as a player?
"I'm very aggressive. I might not always be the biggest guy out there, but I always finish. The coaching staff tells me what I need to do and I finish. I give 110% work out there."
