Prescott Has Five Offers

It took awhile for Haughton (La.) QB Dak Prescott to collect his first scholarship offer, but good things come to those who patiently wait and now the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder has five offers under his belt. The latest offer for Prescott came from the Memphis Tigers.

"I talked to Coach (Kevin) McGiven, Memphis' quarterbacks coach, on the phone," said Prescott, "and he said that he was impressed with me and that he was offering me. He said that he liked my stats and the way I run too. I also have offers from Grambling State, Central Arkansas, Northwestern State, and McNeese State.

"Grambling was my first offer and then Central Arkansas came next. My brother (Jace Prescott) plays at Northwestern. My grandparents live near McNeese, so they're using using that angle to recruit me."

This summer, Prescott is attending camp at both Mississippi State and TCU and those are his current leaders, along with LSU.

"I really like the coaches at Mississippi State," Prescott said. "They came and watched me twice this spring. The offensive coordinator, who is also the quarterbacks coach, came one day and the recruiting coordinator - Coach Hev (John Hevesy) - also came and watched me. They've been cool with me. I like it that Coach (Dan) Mullen has worked with some of the best quarterbacks that are out there.

"I'm going to TCU's camp next Thursday and I like the fact that they're a growing program. They're a 'BCS buster' - as many people put it. TCU has been ranked highly in the polls and they run the spread offense, which I like. We run a similar offense to what they run at Haughton. Their coach tells me that I have a chance to go in there and be a four-year starter."
