Hutson Getting Heavy Interest

Destrehan offensive lineman Ethan Hutson has three offers, with two coming in the last week. Several more schools are showing interest, including SMU. Read on to find out which schools are recruiting the standout offensive guard.

Ethan Hutson has prototype size (6-foot-4 1/2, 290 pounds) for an offensive lineman and his recruitment is skyrocketing - following his remarkable performance several weeks ago at the Nike Training Camp in Baton Rouge.

"Colorado offered me earlier this week and ULM offered me today," Hutson said. "I'm excited about the Colorado offer. It's a BCS school and Boulder is a beautiful city. It's a big-time school. I had been trying to reach ULM's coach on the phone for a couple of weeks and when I got him on the phone today, he told me that they were offering me. They're having a satellite camp at St. Amant High School soon and I might go up there and talk to the coaches."

Hutson, who was named the best offensive lineman at the Nike Training Camp, also has a Tulane offer and he feels that two more schools could extend offers in the near future.

"Tulane gives you a great education and New Orleans is a great city," said Hutson. "I feel like I'm close to getting offers from Tulsa and SMU as well. I've talked to Coach Reinebold with SMU and he seems to be a good guy. SMU is a great school and they have a top business school. I like their fan base and I'll probably take an unofficial visit there soon. My grandparents live in Dallas, so I'll go see them and see the school.

"I lived in Tulsa for three years when I was younger. It's a great area and you get a heckuva education there. Their program is at a high-level, even though they weren't quite as good last year as they had been the past couple of years. I really like their style of play."

Hutson, who is also hearing regularly from Arkansas and Utah, says that he's open right now - with the schools being "all even."
