"It went really well. I enjoyed talking with Coach Hill. He was the one that gave us the tour and the rundown of SMU," said the 2011 recruit.
Last season, Sellers recorded five sacks en route to helping Pensacola win the Florida 3A state championship. The Tigers lost their opening game of the season and then rallied off 14 straight wins for the title.
At this point, Sellers doesn't look to be more than a preferred walk-on, but he will have his chance to show the coaching staff what he can do this week in Houston. The junior will once again make a trip to Texas, camping with the Mustangs.
"The only reason that's really keeping me from one (a scholarship) is that I'd be converted to a OLB since we run 4-3. So, I gotta either bulk up big for a DE or switch to the outside," said Sellers. "Coach Hill said they want me to play for SMU. We're talking with their admissions right now trying to get scholarship money set up."
A scholar as well as a football player, the Florida product has a 31 on his ACT and a 4.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
We will watch Sellers this next week in Houston to see what he can do on the field.
